Around 2009, I started to get into web design through Weebly. After
finding inspiration from
Avril Lavigne's
website, which had a live chat, I figured out how to put chats and
forums onto websites and it shifted my worldview forever. Hardly any of
my friends at the time got as excited about it as me, but my flame for
the web never died.
In 2013/2014, I spent most of my time on Tumblr. I was always recreating
my site. I experienced making internet friends from across the world
for the first time.
In University, I minored in Computational Art and took a course on HTML,
where I learned how simple it really is. We instantly hit it off, and
have been attached at the hip ever since.
Around 2019, I became a fan of The Creative Independent, and wanted to know
who made their website. I found Laurel and Elliott's names listed,
looked them up, and found a bunch of their cool web projects — It was my
catalyst into the indie web, a digital world of self publication.
I felt liberated, and like my middle school dreams of indie websites
were finally being realized. I was on special.fish,
gossips.cafe, HTML Energy, and more.
I have been an internet explorer for as long as I can remember. I'm
happy that it has lead me here.
Websites
I like websites that keep secrets.
Newsletters
I believe that every great online experience has the potential to be offline.
